The online plastic injection molding instant quote system is an easy-to-use tool to get quotes for custom plastic injection molding, CNC machining, or urethane casting. ICOMold’s instant injection molding quote system does not require any software to download. Simply create an account, upload your CAD model to the online portal, and select the desired options. The interactive system will show real-time price updates when selecting part quantity, material, and finish. The ICOMold online injection mold instant quote system is the ideal tool for engineers looking for quotes on tooling and production.
Key Features for Instant Injection Molding Quotes
The ICOMold instant quote system is completely interactive and will update pricing in real time.
- Choose from over 300 material types
- Choose how many cavities for the mold. Multi-cavity and Family Molds (LINK) are an easy way to save time and money.
- Choose color and surface finishes.
- Choose optional secondary finishes or processes.
- Select part quantity.
- Built-in 3D part viewer.
You can upload any additional documents and leave notes for the ICOMold engineers. Once you have uploaded all your documents, you can then submit the quote for verification. The instant quote system will calculate the project cost while the experts at ICOMold review the part design to ensure viability. After review, ICOMold will confirm the quote and notify the customer. The online quote system transitions to a project management system after initial quoting. The project management system will keep customers up to date with project milestones.
The instant injection molding quote system cannot read .stl files. These file types are for 3D printing and do not include all the data necessary to quote an injection-molded part.
Go from CAD File to Finished Product in 6 Easy Steps
Step 1 – Get an Instant Quote
Click on the Get Instant Quote button and then create an account or log into your account.
Step 2 – Add a Part
Select the desired manufacturing process. Next, click the “Browse” button to upload a CAD file or drag and drop it into the window. Customers can upload multiple parts at the same time by highlighting them from a list. Click the “Submit” button when the files have finished uploading. Enter your contact information and agree to the terms and conditions on the next screen. Then click the View Quote button.
Step 3 – Review instant quote
The system will now provide a preliminary (unconfirmed) quote. Make any final adjustments (quantity, material, surfaces finish, etc.) and then click the “Submit” button to “Confirm Quote” button. The project information will be sent to the ICOMold engineers. The engineers will confirm the quote after verifying that the part is capable of being manufactured as designed.
Step 4 – Grant Project
ICOMold engineers will confirm the quote or notify you if the part is not viable. Most quotes are confirmed or rejected within one business day. The customer is then ready to grant the project after the quote is confirmed. The experts at ICOMold will immediately get to work on the project after you click the “Grant Project” button.
Step 5 – Tooling Plan & Design For Manufacturability (DFM)
After granting the project, the customer will receive an email asking them to issue a purchase order (PO) for the project. After receiving the PO, ICOMold will officially launch the project, send an invoice for a 50% down payment, and proceed to the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) process.
The DFM process starts with a proposed tooling plan for each part quoted. This includes details of the parting line location on the part, gate type and location, and ejector pin witness mark locations. The DFM process will also address potential issues that need to be acknowledged and discussed and/or problem areas that need to be redesigned.
Step 6 – Mold Manufacturing & Confirm Sample Parts
After approval of the molding plan, the mold will be machined, and sample parts will be injected and sent to you for review. ICOMold will proceed to manufacture your production parts once the sample parts are approved and the remaining 50% of the balance has been paid. The project will then head into production.
Check the status of your project and communicate directly with your sales representative, project engineer, and mold engineer with our online project management system.

What Does it Cost to Have an Injection Mold Made?
Injection molds can cost anywhere between $3,000 and $100,000. The cost depends on a variety of factors including mold type, how many cavities are in the mold, and the complexity of those cavities. While the mold price may seem high, it is important to weigh the total cost against the number of parts being produced. Consider the price-per-piece when doing any cost calculations. Injection molding is a manufacturing process designed to output a large number of parts in a short amount of time. ICOMold offers other manufacturing techniques or short run molds for customers in need of just a small number of parts.
