Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is similar to TPR. There are a few differences between TPR and TPE. When burned, TPR releases a thick, dark smoke while TPE releases a thinner smoke. TPR is most commonly used for products that must be glued together or that require a glossy look. TPE is best for medical or food grade products. Lastly, TPE is made from a modified SEBS base and has a matte appearance. TPR is made from an SBS base and has a glossy finish.
